In the Wedding World Number 3: A Mother’s Day Special with letters, cards, hankies and beautiful words.

I’m writing a special post this week focusing on mums at weddings in lue of mother’s day this weekend. Here are a few ideas to make your mums feel extra special on your wedding day.

Heartfelt Parent Letters

Photograph from Dianne Personett Photography

I wanted to share this beautiful image. The idea is to write a heart felt letter to your parents on the morning of the wedding. This is a lovely idea, especially for brides who would like to say things to their parents but don’t want to make a speech at the reception. Don’t worry about the words being eloquent, just something truthful from the heart.
Remember, if you plan to do this be sure you tell your photographer so they can be there to capture the expressions! And of course this doesn’t just have to be for parents.

Cute Card Ideas

If you’re looking for somewhere to write those lovely words, or maybe you haven’t got your mothers day card yet, these cards are excellent ideas:

First my Mother, forever my friend.

You can purchase this card from Old English Company at their shop on notonthehighstreet.com

Mum I’m getting married! Thank you!

This lovely card can be brought from sliceofpiedesigns shop on etsy.com

Wedding Hankies

Here are some beautiful examples of wedding hankies to give as little gifts. These particular versions are wonderfully illustrated and customisable! I love the vintage hand-drawn floral look. Why not print a special little message for your mum on one of these, so she can wipe away her happy tears. Then maybe one for your grandma too? You can view the whole collection and purchase over at weddingchicks.com

Beautiful Love Quote

Lastly I wanted to finish with this beautiful quote as I think it sums up the power of motherhood :-)

A man who treats his woman like a princess is a proof that he has been born and raised in the arms of a queen.
